Autumn is always the start of Frank Zappa Listening Season for me. He made Halloween special for so many fans, and his birthday is December 21st, so this is a poignant time of year. As such, here's a tune that should be accessible for most of you, a piece entitled St. Etienne - it is essentially a guitar solo, very gentle and soothing, showing that Frank had command of a wide vocabulary of musical emotions. This piece is a departure from his mangle it, strangle it approach to guitar. So, for those of you who hesitate to give Frank a serious listen, try this on for size -
