Senator John McCain, the one who was cited by the Senate Ethics Committee back in 1989 for "exercising poor judgment" when he met with federal regulators on behalf of Charles Keating Jr., the chairman of Lincoln Savings and Loan, is running for President Of The United States, and he wants your vote. Before you give it to him, consider that after yesterday's Dow drop of 504 points, a number not seen since just after 9/11, suggested that the US economy was strong.
While I'm fine with his stance on several issues, I tend to focus on my everyday needs, and one of them is money. The economy is a serious issue for serious grown-ups. And the vast majority of economists agree that not only are John McCean's plans fiscally unsound, they also agree that since WWII, Republican administrations have been terrible for the economy.
Now, it's possible that some of you are willing to trade off poverty for a candidate that is militarily aggressive, socially conservative, and has a staff chock-full of lobbyists, but I'd rather go the other way.
And lastly, I love this quote from Senator McCain, back in 2007: “I am prepared. I need no on-the-job training. I wasn’t a mayor for a short period of time. I wasn’t a governor for a short period of time.” - so, um, anyone seen Mayor, I mean Governor Palin lately?

Stu, I appreciate all of these posts. I honestly do. I would like to ask that you do one on Obama similar to what you posted on McCain a few days ago.
I would like to put in a request for a post from you (do you do requests?). This isn't mean to put you on the spot, I am just curious to see what you pick out. List the top things from Obama's campaign website that he stands for or promises in order to show his side in contrast (or not) with what you lifted from McCain's site to put in that previous post.
I'd like to see that.
Thanks,
