Stu News and Photos

My name is Stu and I am here to share what I can.

Melissa, one of my loyal readers, asked if I take requests. Of course! So, for Melissa, here's some facts pulled from Senator Obama's campaign literature (a balance to the list I put up for Senator McCean) -

Senator Obama plans to work to overturn the Supreme Court's recent ruling that curtails racial minorities' and women's ability to challenge pay discrimination.

He will sign into law his legislation that establishes harsh penalties for those who have engaged in voter fraud and provides voters who have been misinformed with accurate and full information so they can vote.

He will, in regard to national defense, invest in foreign language training, cultural awareness, and human intelligence and other needed counterinsurgency and stabilization skill sets.

He will create a Military Families Advisory Board to provide a conduit for military families' concerns to be brought to the attention of senior policymakers and the public.

He will create a $25 billion State Growth Fund to prevent state and local cuts in health, education, housing, and heating assistance or counterproductive increases in property taxes, tolls or fees.

He will also include $25 billion in a Jobs and Growth Fund to prevent cutbacks in road and bridge maintenance and fund school repair.

He will eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year.

He will dramatically simplify tax filings so that millions of Americans will be able to do their taxes in less than five minutes.

He will create Early Learning Challenge Grants to promote state "zero to five" efforts and help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school.

(This is getting long, so I'll do a part two in the next few days - and if you're reading this, I strongly recommend you visit each of the candidates websites and read through their plans - While I respect Senator McCean and agree will some of his ideas, Senator Obama's plan is far more comprehensive and detailed, and for me, this is what I am looking for in a national leader, someone with a serious and extensive plan.)

Thanks for putting the time into this. It was a very well balanced bit from here and there.

I am looking forward to part two.
