Today, my son, Nicholas, graduated 8th grade.
Wow.
Words fail, sincerely. I can't quite explain how I feel. Part elation, part wistfulness, part pride, part something undefinable.
This picture is of my boy Nich, alongside his friend Alom, showing off their academic medals, one for general braininess that was given by The President Of The United States, and one for third place in the school science fair (the boys experimented with anti-gravity).
I don't want him to grow up, but if he has to, I'm so very proud of the way he's doing it.

The boy was very young; perhaps 7 or 8 years old. He loved everything about
Christmas - the lights, the music, Santa ...

Mazel Tov Nich!!!!! I clearly remember my 8th grade graduation from Jonas Salk Middle School. So excited to finally be in high school.
As for parenting an 8th grade graduate - i do believe you nailed it on the head. I cried yesterday in my college son's room, because i miss him so much. But the pride holds me up. Love you bro!!!! You are the best!
The greatest joy (NACHES) is to see your children grow up the way you dreamed they would. A close second is to see it in your grandkids.
IT IS ALL ABOUT FAMILY.
love you son
Medals! That is SO cool!!!
Congratulations!!!!!
Congratulations Stu! You have every right to be proud. You have been greatly responsible for moulding Nich into the man he is becoming.
There are many more great moments to enjoy!
