Leslie and I were in the garage, jamming, me on drums, she on guitar. After a bit, she wrote a melody line, which I tried to accompany. Except I couldn't quite figure it out. And she didn't know what time signature she was in. Some few minutes later, we figured out that she was in 6/8 time.
For the music geeks, we weren't just in 6/8 time, we were breaking it down into three measures of triplet-feel, followed by one measure of 2 straight quarter notes. That's 6/8 time, right?
Anyway, it was pretty cool, and even cooler that it was my wife.

I don't know, Stu, the only time signature I immediately recognize is 17/16, but that's just me.
What is even better than the fact that Leslie is your wife is that she is our daughter.
I'll have to pass that on to Ali. I figure she can make heads and/or tails of it. I've been out of music too long to wrap my poor head around it :-P
