Just heard the news that Lou checked out. Damn. My feelings for Lou were complex. He was a thoughtful songwriter and a force in rock music, but he was also less than kind to certain folks, including my hero, Frank Zappa. Still, Lou's gone and that's a shame. He left behind some fantastic music, including this album, New York, which is arguably his finest single album of material:
