How do you feel about the government seizing land in PA to create a 9/11 memorial? Read this story and see if you feel comfortable with it.

No, I don't like it one bit. It's strange though...I read a few weeks ago that the park service had settled with the one guy who was holding out on selling. I thought it was all set.

Have you ever been to the Flight 93 site? It's quite an experience.

A colleague (from work) was on Flight 93. Knowing him, I suspect he was among those who tried to wrest control from the terrorists.

No info was given in the article as to whether the land owner was asking for a fair price (or or not), but in any case I disagree with the feds seizing the land for a memorial (seems hypocritical to do so).

i read about that. i was apalled. steal land from farmers for a useless park. nice. like we haven't marginalized the small farmer enough. but, i have to say that there's a lot about 9/11 that i find appalling.

yeah, it sucked. seriously. do i believe survivors should have gotten millions of dollars from the government? not for a second. do i think people had a leg to stand on when they freaked over people dust in the building remains? no. don't even get me started on my feelings about getting a consensus on the ground zero rebuilding plans.

i've found myself thinking, on more than one occasion, "get over yourself." and how tragic is that?

Amazingly bad, but par for the course.

As atrocious as it is, sadly, it's no unusual feat for the US gov't...

It's adding insult to injury; stealing land owned by free Americans to erect a monument... Yeah, that's patriotic. Oh but wait, US gov't has been doing that for centuries? Ok then, no big deal...
