My latest parenting essay is up on GNMParents - click here to go there now - I hope you enjoy it - I worked extra hard to craft the funny, and yes, I used an extra egg to make the funny even lighter and fluffier.

thats a great one - very funny
Mmmmm. Ahhhh yesss, my 17 y/o hot rod was a 1979 Trans Am big block 400. Turbo charged, everything was original, right down to the 8 track player. Ooooh it was a beauty! Of course the paint was cracked and faded, the maroon interior in pain, the leaf springs rusty, but that didn't stop my daily dreams of the brandy-new metallic blue paint with freshly lain fire bird on the hood. Man was she sweet!! Ah, but sour is the taste of defeat as mother said, "DENIED!" That was a sad, sad day...
I can't imagine the girls find it attractive with the blinders and all. I suppose picking up the knocked over nic nacs after the boy strafes through the house is a small price to pay for mental serenity. ;D Congrats on the bullet dodge! Great essay!
Excellent article. Here's what my dad did when I was 17 ... he bought me a used car that did not run ... and he "let" me fix it. He knew exatly where I was every day after school and on weekends ... working on the car. I never did get it running, but it was fun trying.
