Stu News and Photos

My name is Stu and I am here to share what I can.

So, I was away for a while - I bought a Hackintosh and it took a while for it to stop acting up.

What's a Hackintosh? It's a Mac, but it's a homebrew. Essentially, I found a guy who built me a $3500 Mac Pro for $1300. Now I can compose without getting CPU lag or crashing. Very cool, totally worth it.

What else is goin' on? They found ice on Mars, and in a few weeks we'll find out if the ice contains organics. Pretty exciting.

Summer is officially upon us - the kids are home, hanging out, doing their best to do as little as possible - Nich is either playing soccer, playing World of Warcraft, or watching tv. Noe is spending half her time hanging with her friends and half her time watching tv. I'll make 'em use their brains a little bit over the summer, but for now, I'm happy to let 'em veg.

Tonight, Leslie and I are going to camp out in the back yard (yes, I remembered to turn off the sprinklers). We'll read poetry and talk and have a percussion jam session. Should be fun.

Thanks to all of you for your wonderful friendship - I don't say that often enough.

Also, soon, some comic book reviews - I'm now almost halfway through The Watchmen and I've just finished the first volume of the The Ultimates.

Please, ask questions or suggest ideas.

Lastly, why did the zombie cross the road?

....Braaaaaiiinnnnzzzz.....

Mac or PC, it's still great fun to get the new 'pooter fixed just the way you like it, and feeling all comfy and nice...

:::Geez::: can you tell I'm a Geek? :)

Hope the campout was fun - The Wrench and I go on a "date" every weekend (mostly out to lunch or dinner at a fave little cantina) and just sneak away for a couple of hours together.

And finally... let the kids goof off for a while, Dad! :) Remember that they'll be kids for just a little while longer, but grown-ups for a long, long time. The pleasure of a lazy summer is one of the few things about childhood that everyone should have the luxury of experiencing...

Thim :)

Well, there's lazy and then there's comatose. If you let the kids' brains turn off for too long, they get gummed up - you gotta keep 'em awake for a little bit, otherwise next school year, it goes right into the dumper.
