I am sitting here in the mattel parking lot - waiting for Les to come down from her office - and I am listening to an opera by Stravinsky - Pulcini - and I got to thinking, while listening to the beautiful tenor - "Hey, this sorta reminds me of a good cantor doing Kol Nidre" This immediately led to this question - Why are there no famous Hebrew operas? Plenty in French and Italian and Chinese, but Hebrew? Not so much.
Anyone know why such a lyricly percussive language is not getting used? Hebrew is crying out for a great opera.
Not sure if my eldest nephew reads my blog, but if anyone who knows The One Who Wrestled The Angel Of G-d, would you ask him for me?
