If you recall, or if you scroll down, my last blog entry was a response to the Virginia Tech shootings. But once I posted it, I found it hard to follow up. My sadness was palpable. Then Magazine Man's parents went to Heaven in a tragic way, and I just couldn't blog.
People bugged me about it, and I appreciated their efforts, but my rule is: On a personal blog, I don't blog unless I feel it. And I just wasn't feelin' it.
After a while, I knew I wanted to blog again, but I made myself an arbitrary start date: I would blog again when I got my Virginia Tech baseball cap in the mail. See, right after I heard the news about VT, I tried to think of what I could do to directly support their community. The best I could come up with was to buy a VT baseball cap. Well, I'm sure others had the same idea, as it took a while for them to process my order - but yesterday afternoon, it arrived:
And so my blog starts anew.

I'm really glad that you are back. I've missed reading you! (and yes - I knew you were still over at GNMParents, but still...)
One of the things that I admire about you is the strength of your convictions. You came back when you were ready, and not before.
Good picture, BTW! :)
Thim :)
You have come back even more ravishingly beautiful than before!
You are a warm and compassionate man. The folks in your life are blessed to have you.
It is great to have you back.....but I always had you....
and I am so proud of you
dad
Thanks Thim! Cool of you to say, I sincerely appreciate your words.
Mr. Fabulous,
Thank you very much, although I'm not sure that I am attractive enough to actually be ravished. Maybe enough to have my hair tousled a bit, but I don't have a "ravish me" look.
Mouse Of Danger,
Thank you kindly, nice of you to say. And you? Why, you're the greatest, you're fantastic... Wherever there's danger, you'll be there, You're the ace! You're the strongest, you're the quickest, you're the best!! Danger Mouse, Danger Mouse, DANGER MOUSE!!!
Dad, words fail to express my love and admiration for you. As I grow older, I grow more confident, because I see in so many ways how I have become you.
Stu:
So nice to see you back amongst the active. Your link has been properly placed back among the living.

Awe Stu. I didn't mean to bug you to get back to blogging.
Glad you are. I was checking back weekly to see if you had felt ready to blog. I think waiting was good. It's been a rough few months so far in 07.
But, I've been reading GNMParents faithfully. Even subscribed to the email feed. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself with us. It is appreciated.
