It turns out that the pharmacy (a major chain drug store) had been completely physically reconfigured, which included new computer systems. Every customer had to be re-entered into their database. So no more delays the next time I need meds.
What was cool was, I asked a cashier about it, and the head cheese overheard and talked to me. He was very cool, explaining what was happening. I pointed out that if they would have signage explaining the temporary long lines, most of the customers would have been cool about it. He lit up, thanked me, shook my hand, and took off to make signs. That impressed me. So I'll use them again.
