The following is a rant. It is personal to me. I feel the need to vent. If this is not your cup of tea, keep checking back, I'll eventually get to something you dig. Thanks.
Still here? Good.
We've been seeing a lot of shootings happening lately, involving children, some as the victims and some as the pullers of triggers.
Parents, this falls under your purview. It is now time for you to stop what you're doing and start taking your parenting obligation seriously. Start teaching the important lessons: Teach them that you love them, unconditionally. Teach them that love makes everything better. Teach them that violence in any form is unacceptable. Teach them that you believe in them, even if they don't believe in themselves.
Parenting, good, solid, committed, energetic, loving, earnest parenting can fix all of society's ills. All of them.
Please, parents, wake up. Start a new chapter. Fix what you need to fix and give your children what they need to be their best. Please. Thank you.

Definitely with you there, Stu.
More parental responsibility is exactly what's needed. People are way too quick to blame everything on scapegoats including cartoons, videogames, and other kids.
The popular media then broadcasts those scapegoats to everyone else looking for an excuse. Rarely does a voice get heard promoting proper education, listening, and caring.
Sure, actually parenting is more effort than blaming someone or something else but it would make all the difference in the world.
