This is the first morning that Nicholas will be solely responsible for waking himself up. He's almost fifteen and I think it's time. We talked about it, and he agreed to it (nicely, I might add), so today's the day. If he doesn't get himself up, then he'll take the tardy and, with hope, learn. We shall see.
*UPDATE* Nich got himself out of bed, ate, and got to school on time, all without external support! Fan-Tastic!!
Noelle has "Crazy Hair Day" today, and as it is Red Ribbon Week, she's wearing a red (purple) scarf in her hair. Pretty impressive.
I don't even want to talk about what Leslie is wearing, as she always dresses wonderfully for work, except she looks so pretty when she leaves the house, and I get jealous. Oy.
We're finalizing the artwork on my arcade machine, so I may actually receive shipment in a few weeks. Here's hoping (in one hand).
I'm reading David Wallechinksy's "Twentieth Century: History With The Boring Parts Left Out". I'm a big fan of Wallechinsky, ever since my mom got me a copy of his "The People's Almanac". I'm going to see if I can find a way to contact him so that I can send him fan mail.

The boy was very young; perhaps 7 or 8 years old. He loved everything about
Christmas - the lights, the music, Santa ...

Very good reading.
did he get up????????????
Congrats on your boy taking another step towards independence!
:)
I read everything in "The People's Almanac" series, cover-to-cover. Loved those books when I was a teen.
Anonymous: Yep, he got up without any prodding necessary. I walked into the kitchen and there he was!
Melinda,
Right on, thanks! I am psyched about it, although I also try to slow the time down, because I know that he'll be off to college in a few short years.
Sully,
That is funny, you are the first person I've met who's heard of the guy. Yeah, I find his editing to be spot on. I recommend them when I can.
Yup, the Almanacs (I, II, III) and The Book(s) Of Lists. Great stuff. I think if I were to be stranded on a desert isle, I'd want those books. He and his partners in writing make every story in them come alive.
