Tag, I'm It!

|

Ok, enough of Mel, let's toss the "l" and talk about Me!

I just got tagged by Ron, with a pretty safe and interesting meme, called:

Five Weird Things About Myself

Obviously, limiting this to five is the tricky part. I may do this in sets of five. Ok, enough delay, now here comes the icepick in the forehead:

1) I comment on my own speech as I'm speaking, as though I'm creating footnotes for people, who couldn't possibly care less.

2) I am a closet eater.

3) I hate the sound of metal rubbing metal. Seriously. I'll run out of the room if it lasts more than three seconds.

4) I sing to our cat.

5) I have a super-sensitive gag reflex.

Wow - we have five things in common, just replace metal with paper, and cat with dog! Thanks for the seaband advice, I myself am a dramamine queen, but I think I'm ready to try something else that won't make me any more dizzy than usual. Also, you have TMBG lyrics in your blog, and for that, you Rock!

See, my dog is so easy that I don't need to sing, I can do anything and he interprets it as love. Sometimes I sing to him, sometimes I do standup comedy, sometimes I read him poetry, sometimes I chase him around the yard. To him, it's all good. But the cat is picky, so I give her the love that she misses from her mom, which is cooing, or the next best thing, singing.

As for TMBG, I probably will post about them, as they don't have a wide enough audience. They are a huge fave rave with me.

I suppose I don't care much for metal against metal but it's metal against the inside of my mouth that turns my stomach and drives shivers up my spine. Fork or spoon, if it's metal and rubs against my teeth or tongue I get a sick feeling. As a result I'm very careful when I eat with metal utensils.

Also, my gag reflex is very sensitive to food texture. Eggplants prepared soft and fatty parts of steak make me want to vomit. I haven't run across a whole lot of things that set me off like those two but when I do I can feel myself turning green X-P

This is why I like chopsticks so much. That and eating finger foods.

You have asuper-sensitive gag reflex, yet you eat closets?

Anonymous said...

Well, if they're empty closets they don't take much chewing. It's just getting wire hangers stuck in yer teeth, that's a real drag.

First, I eat the closet, just the closet. Not the contents. Do you eat the center of a pepper or an apple or a peach or a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup?

Second, ok, so sometimes I nibble on a shoelace or two. If you close your eyes and think of England, they taste like black licorice.

Stu, this is getting all Zen 'n' shit.

What I want to know: Does the cat sing back?

Stu said...

Ok, for real? Yes, sometimes the cat, Billie, sings back. Well, not so much serious singing, so much as call-backs, like James Brown's band. And sometimes she doesn't sing at all, she just purrs. She always purrs.
