The kids are with their dad this week, so Leslie and I, to mask the pain, went to Mt. Baldy on a whim. One of the places we stayed at was Snow Crest Lodge. Normally I am not a fame-seeker, but now is the time when I wish I had a bigger audience, so that I could point many people to this wonderful vacation from everything.
Situated fairly high up Mt. Baldy*, the lodge rests at the edge of a ravine, which makes for a beautiful view out of the front door of your cabin. Yes, I will post pictures soon.
Martie was running the place, and when she had a moment, gave us the nickel tour. The basement/garage was a music club not too long ago, where Martie once saw Van Halen in their early days. Snow Crest Lodge also features what was once the world's tallest free-standing chimney. The lodge also has the coolest pinball machine ever, Addams Family. I scored 49 million points and called it a night.
Our cabin was huge, crazy-big considering the low cost. The living room had a beautiful fireplace, and the bedroom had an extra comforter. The bed was very comfortable and the hot water was plentiful.
I hope all two of you readers get out to Baldy and Snow Crest Lodge. Tell Martie was said "Hi".
