This morning we were participating in part of our Morning Ritual. Leslie and I were watching Good Day LA, our favorite morning news. They are far more relaxed than any news show I've ever experienced. They understand that I need a refuge from the harshness of network/internet news. Tony/Jean/Lisa/Rick/Steve/Dorothy/Jill are a great way to ease into the day. They lack all pretense and never take themselves too seriously.
This morning, Lisa Breckenridge ran a story that had everyone in the studio crying. It was about Stitches From The Heart, an organization that knits and then donates hats to newborns in need. They had a shot of a woman who went to a hospital to deliver her first donated knit hat and the woman couldn't even talk, because she was so overwhelmed by the moment. It turns out that they have over 6,000 volunteers who knit hats and booties and snuggly things, so I figured my Mom would make a perfect volunteer. I bet Mom would totally dig this.

The boy was very young; perhaps 7 or 8 years old. He loved everything about
Christmas - the lights, the music, Santa ...
