As I have a subscription to DirecTV and an HD television, I TiVo'd "Bubble" by Steven Soderbergh.
First, I applaud the idea of full media release. Life should be lived, and experiments should be persued vigorously. Bravo to Mark Cuban for getting behind this. Will it pan out? I don't even have a guess. I'm not good with money. But artistically, it is a smash home run.
That said, Bubble is worth the view, if just for the vibe and the cinematography. The acting is mediocre, but that is to be expected with a truly innexperienced cast. They give it a great try and some are successful. However, that is the only down side. The framing and subject matter of the photography are beautiful and haunting. (at times it is still photography, as their are cuts with none or little movement)... The story itself is haunting in its simplicity. No spoilers here, but the choice Soderbergh and writer Coleman Hough make is a bold one in this day and age.
Please invest in this film. Invest your time, invest your money. This is exactly how audiences get what they truly want, by letting people who are dedicated to supporting the audience lead the audience. It's a matter of trust.
